Why career counseling through psychometric assessment for students?

Answer : Majority of students decide career based on following common factors:

  1. As per parent’s wish or what parents feel is right career for their children , which may be medicine, engineering, commerce, arts, mass media, management, etc. Every parent has wellbeing of their children in their heart, but their choice of career is usually based on their perception about which careers are good and well paying nowadays or based on their subconscious desire of making their children, what they could not become.
  2. Peer pressure, like “As all my friends are choosing science, I will also select science.”
  3. Based on students perception which is formed by different inputs from society and surroundings in general or their fantasy like, “I want to be a pilot, a doctor or a chartered accountant, as the uncle next door who is a chartered accountant is earning a lot of money and driving a big car.”
  4. Most deceptive idea of selecting a career is based on the highest score a student receives in a subject for example:
  • High score in science: Go for engineering.
  • High score in maths: Go for accountancy.
  • High score in Biology: Go for medicine.

This is deceptive as high score in a particular subject sometimes may only indicate the capacity of mind of the student, but may not indicate his or her real interest. Psychometric assessment help you select the right career based on your intelligence, personality, traits and interest.
